What is Regret and How to Prevent Regret From Destroying You
Regret is an emotion that will encourage you to make the right decisions in the future
“Don’t waste your time in anger, regrets, worries, and grudges. Life is too short to be unhappy.” — Roy T. Bennett
An Emotional Barrier
Regret is an emotional state when a person, overwhelmed by guilt, constantly remembers the moments when he made the wrong decisions in life.
Realizing that a decision has not been successful, the mind is occupied with imaginative visions of the best version of life that could be a reality if the decisions were thought through more carefully and with more foresight.
Regret is a long-lasting emotion that can haunt a person for days, months, and even decades.
For a short while, we feel regret when we do something stupid, fail, or make a mistake.
On the other hand for a long-lasting time, all our lives we have memories of moments that could have changed our lives completely — missed job opportunities, the wrong choice of education, not spending time with family, and so on.
