At a time when many people in the middle of the year hoped that the worst part of the pandemic was behind us and that we would gradually start to return to the “normal” rhythm of life, here where I live we faced new restrictions — a month-long full-on lockdown. And so anxiety and depression slowly returned and creep their way into our lives.
For some people, these conditions affected their daily lives not only physically but also emotionally, increasing emotional pressure and stress. And for others, lockdown seemed to be the best thing that happened to them.
We all are here to be there for one another, and therefore it is crucial we all have some knowledge about depression and anxiety, even a little bit, so we can recognize and see the signs.
Feelings of depression and helplessness, increased anxiety, and other psychological discomforts are normal human reactions to new and unprecedented events, it is often the lack of understanding of one’s emotional state and how to balance it that has negative consequences.
